RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main interest is to understand how the intercellular communication system named Quorum Sensing enables to microbes to colonize new habitats, adapt to environmental changes, resist host defense and antibiotic action, strengthen competitiveness and take advantage of new food sources. Recently work from my research group has providing insight regarding in biological control of bacterial citrus canker diseases using quorum-quenching bacteria. Actually, I am working in transcriptional analysis coupled to functional genomics to understand the regulatory network of virulence regulation in the bacterium Xanthomonas citri.
